Curriculum

At Modbury South Pre - Year 6 School, we use the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum to guide teaching and learning in our Pre-School and Primary School.

Pre-School

Learning is centred on the learning outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

Primary School

Learning areas taught by classroom teachers:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Humanities and Social Sciences: History, Geography and Civics and Citizenship
  • Science
  • Design & Technology

Learning areas taught by specialist teachers

  • Arts: dance, drama, visual arts, media studies, music
  • Language other than English – Japanese
  • Health and Physical Education
