Modbury South Primary School is in Hope Valley and is located on a joint campus with Modbury High School and Modbury Special School. A seamless transition is therefore offered for students from 3 and a half years of age to 18 years of age. Our school is community based and we welcome families as learners, together with staff and as such have a country like feel to our school. Our inclusion policy enables students with disabilities to learn alongside mainstream students, including our Junior Primary Special Class and Modbury Special School. We believe the inclusion of students with special needs provides a richer, more diverse learning environment for all students. Currently our school has an enrolment of approximately 150 students pre-school to Year 7. All classes are small and our commitment in our Early Years classes is to keep them under 20 students. Staff also have a relentless focus on student wellbeing. We strive for excellence in all areas of the curriculum, have a focus on 21st century learning with special emphasis on explicit teaching and learning in Numeracy and Literacy. We encourage creativity and diversity and cater for personalised learning for students on negotiated learning plans right through to student with high intellectual potential.
