Welcome to Modbury South Primary School
Our motto is "Learning Together
for
the Future". The future is always uncertain. We give our
students a global perspective through the use
of information and communication technologies and an
innovative curriculum.
Our school is situated between Modbury High School and Modbury Special School. Naturally we have close ties with both schools with a large number of our Grade 7 students moving to Modbury High School after graduation. We also have a Junior Primary Special class situated within our main building. We believe the inclusion of special students provides a richer more diverse culture for all our students.
Modbury South Primary School opened in 1965 and since that time has been focused on student wellbeing and responsive to the needs of our close community.
Throughout early 2001, our Junior Primary classes and JP wet area were completely renovated to provide four brand new learning areas for our younger students. 2003 saw a brand new outside learning area constructed with undercover seating for as many as 50 students and 2004 our outside play area was renovated to provide hard play areas, a netball court and basketball court. We continued to up grade our site with the renovation of the Activity Room and the installation of Interactive White boards in learning areas. Our new gym will be finished in early 2010. Our community is looking forward to all the benefits of this new learning facility.
Currently our school has an enrolment of just under 200 students Pre School-7. We are very similar to a large family. Staff have a relentless focus on student wellbeing, we strive for excellence in all areas of the curriculum with special emphasis on Numeracy and Literacy.
